MONDAYS

Minecraft Creative Adventures (K-6th): Minecraft: Creative Adventures is a course designed to help children tap into their creativity and problem-solving skills through the popular video game, Minecraft. In this course, children will have the opportunity to explore the vast and customizable world of Minecraft, using their imaginations to build and design their own structures, landscapes, and more. Along the way, they'll also have the chance to collaborate with their classmates and share ideas as they work together to bring their creative projects to life. By working together and sharing their thoughts and ideas, children will learn about the value of collaboration and the power of teamwork. This is a fantastic opportunity for children to learn and grow while having fun in the process!

 

Group Ukulele (2nd-6th): Ukulele is the new educational standard used by young students as a gateway into guitar and other stringed instruments. Using a variety of pop and folk songs, students will learn chords, finger-picking and rhythm techniques that they may use to perform pieces or accompany themselves singing. Students may transition to guitar instruction after the initial session or continue studying more advanced techniques on Ukulele. A ukulele rental will be provided for participating students.

 

Tumbling (K-6th): Our tumblers will learn tumbling basics, flexibility and beginning/intermediate level skills such as rolls, cartwheels and back bends. Core strength and balance are incorporated to build strength and coordination. Students will improve on their gymnastics skills, balance and increase strength through movement exercises while having a great time! Comfortable fitted clothing and athletic/tennis shoes are required. Family & friends are invited to a mini showcase of skills learned on the last day of class.



TUESDAYS

Basketball (K-3rd): Our coaches will help children of any skill level improve their shooting, ball handling, defense and rebounding while having fun in a lightly competitive environment. Players will work together and compete while they have fun playing in basketball related games like Knockout, Dribble Wars, and Sharks and Minnows. Students will also play in age-appropriate half-court and full-court games.

 

Hungry Hungry Science (K-6th): Need some science to sink your teeth into? In Hungry Hungry Science we will explore different scientific concepts using food as our main vehicle for experimentation. We will not only use ingredients to explain different ideas through simple recipes, but make edible experiments as well to learn about reactions, acids & basis, biology, nutrition and more! If you haven’t had your fill of science fun, come fill your bellies in Hungry Hungry Science.


WEDNESDAYS

Chess (K-6th): Learn chess with Magnus Academy (formerly Silver Knights), world champion Magnus Carlsen’s academy!  We’ve taught 100,000 children to play including state and national champions, but most students are beginners looking to learn a new skill and have FUN. Class time is divided between lessons and practice games.  Lessons range from the basic rules to advanced tournament strategies.

Students will have the opportunity to play in tournaments (in-person and online) outside of club time.  This in-person club includes free online extras including weekly practice tournaments and an event with world champion Magnus Carlsen or Judit Polgar, the best female chess player of all time.  All chess supplies provided. Cartooning Art (K-6th): Young Rembrandts™ Cartooning curriculum uses a structured stepwise format to teach students to create their own animated characters in humorous settings. We break down objects and ideas into simple shapes, then use exaggeration, caricature, and personification to playfully construct our own cartoon images. Our Cartooning curriculum develops academically relevant skills, including spatial-motor planning, mental discipline and fine motor skills, while providing a fun, enriching experience for our students. New lessons every week!


THURSDAYS

Cooking: Breakfast Club (K-6th): In this session, the kids will get to learn all sorts of breakfast treats, ranging from super simple, to a delicious meal to get excited over! They will be breakfast champions by the end, being able to crack eggs without a second thought and how to be a baking pro. 

 

Beginner Karate (K-6th): This class is offered by a Kent Gardens Elementary school mom who is an international Certified black belt Instructor!! This class is designed for all belt levels ages 5–11. Students learn the basic levels of martial arts while participating in a fun, exciting atmosphere. Class is tailored to student’s individual needs and helps them grow to their fullest potential. Karate classes not only focus on instruction, but also learning valuable lessons related to discipline, motivation, self-control, and continual improvement. No previous training is required! 

The activities included: Basic self-defense skills, traditional karate forms known as Kata, tumbling skills/agility, a variety of Martial Arts activities, exciting/fun games, leadership training, board breaking, performance & awards (Trophies)!!! Character development, respect and self-control are promoted during the training to help students cope with life pressures. 

The instructor for this class is a highly qualified Black Belt with international Instructor certification through the IWKA and Penn State Karate. The Instructor for this class - Sensei Mami Gebereegziabher - Renshigo 5th Degree Black belt

Martial Art uniforms are included in the cost of the class!


FRIDAYS

Acting Improv Adventures (K-3rd): In this class, young performers step into the spotlight with laugh-out-loud activities! Each season offers fresh experiences through lively improv games and interactive acting exercises, focusing on storytelling and imaginative exploration instead of traditional scripts. Participants will think on their feet while enhancing their communication skills, stage presence, and teamwork in the exciting world of improvisation. Parents are invited to join us for a special mini-performance during the final class.
