Spy Science (K-2nd)

How do detectives and investigators use science to solve a mystery? We will spend this program understanding forensic science and learning the tricks of the spy trade. We'll investigate fingerprints, spying techniques (surveillance), secret codes, invisible ink, and other sneaky science!

 

TGA Afterschool Pickleball Program (3rd-6th)

GET READY TO DINK, DRIVE, AND VOLLEY WHILE HAVING FUN WITH TGA!

Led by trained and vetted coaches, TGA Pickleball uniquely combines athletics, academics, and life lessons to create a fun, active, and entertaining camp experience. TGA programs include skill development, lessons on rules & etiquette, and activities that explore academic concepts through the lens of the sport. All levels/abilities are welcome and equipment is provided.


TUESDAYS

Poppin Piano (K-6th)

Students will participate in a music group. Students will learn about the instrument as well as how to play in a music group. FREE Rental instrument and curriculum included!  Instruments and music are intended for in class AND at home practice.  Rental Instrument must be returned at the last class.


WEDNESDAYS

Abrakadoodle in 3D (K-6th)

Learn to sculpt using wire, wood, clay, aluminum, plastic, string and/or paper. We'll mold, bend, twist, stretch and balance while we design each three-dimensional creation. Learn about a variety of amazing artists while creating eight 3D artworks that are dynamic, creative and fun!

 

Run Club (K-6th)

Run Club is for boys and girls who come out to run for fun and fitness! Kids run in groups with their peers. Throughout the class, coaches engage the kids in super fun running activities, such as sharks and minnows, tag games, relay races, and team racing competitions. We find that kids run so much more when we include running games or running competitions throughout the hour. During just running time, kids will run laps and track their distance or number of laps by picking up a popsicle stick at the completion of each lap and work toward running longer distances throughout the session.


THURSDAYS

Cooking: Breakfast Club (K-2nd)

In this session, the kids will get to learn all sorts of breakfast treats, ranging from super simple, to a delicious meal to get excited over! They will be breakfast champions by the end, being able to crack eggs without a second thought and how to be a baking pro. 

 

Soccer (3rd-6th)

This program will consist of fun games using soccer skills which will lead up to playing small-sided soccer. As the days progress, games will involve more and more soccer skills, involving different moves, dribbling, ball control, passing, and shooting. Games will require individual 1 on 1 skills with some requiring team participation.

 

Chess (K-6th)

Learn chess with Magnus Academy (formerly Silver Knights), world champion Magnus Carlsen’s academy!  We’ve taught 100,000 children to play including state and national champions, but most students are beginners looking to learn a new skill and have FUN. Class time is divided between lessons and practice games.  Lessons range from the basic rules to advanced tournament strategies. Students will have the opportunity to play in tournaments (in-person and online) outside of club time.  This in-person club includes free online extras including weekly practice tournaments and an event with world champion Magnus Carlsen or Judit Polgar, the best female chess player of all time.  All chess supplies provided. Soccer (K-2nd)

LEGO Robotics WeDo 2.0 (3rd-6th)

Welcome to Lego WeDo 2.0! In this course, children will have the opportunity to learn about STEM concepts through the use of educational robotics. Using the Lego WeDo 2.0 kit, students will build and program their own robots. Along the way, they will learn about the functions of various robotic components such as motors, hubs, and sensors, as well as important computer science concepts such as sequencing, debugging, and loops. This course is designed to be both educational and fun, and is suitable for use in the classroom or at home. With a variety of project ideas and lesson plans to choose from, students will have plenty of opportunities to explore and discover with Lego WeDo 2.0.

 

Spanish for Kids (2nd-6th)

Spanish for Kids"" is an after-school program designed for boys and girls in grades K to 5 who are interested in learning to speak Spanish. In this program, students will develop communication skills that will enable them to introduce themselves, talk about their preferences, likes, and dislikes, express simple needs, and answer questions. They will also learn to talk about their family members and friends. Throughout the class, instructors will engage the kids in super fun activities such as singing, dancing, playing, and immersing themselves in the Spanish language. To enhance your kids' experience of learning Spanish, they will be able to practice each topic on our new platform, IXL. Through fun and interactive activities, they can reinforce each lesson learned during the after-school class. IXL lays the foundation for Spanish fluency with interactive questions, engaging audio, and real-world narratives that put a fresh spin on vocabulary and grammar skills.
